Garston Gangsters Strike Again

Village Clean-up Day

As the rain lashed down early on Sunday morning I had several phone calls asking “Is it still on?” By 10.30am the sun was shining and the sky blue!

About fifteen villagers turned out armed with litter pickers and plastic bags.  They were despatched around the village roads and river banks.

A small group stayed in the village hall car park and cut back the banks and lopped off overhanging branches, so increasing the parking spaces and generally making it look more cared for.

Many thanks to all who turned out. Thanks also to P.J.S. for organising the skip and to Diana Smith for allowing the skip to stand in her drive.

We are hoping to have another morning in the hall car park to finish the job there so keep a look out on the village website for the date and time and do come along to help.

Many thanks again to all those who turned out on Sunday.
